AI Is Also Changing the Way Fashion Catalogs Are Created

In the fashion world, images are an integral part of the product.

In the B2B sector, this requirement is even more complex: content must be available quickly, consistent across the board, easily distributable, and adaptable to different buyers, markets, and retailers.

But a traditional photo shoot requires time, logistics, models, makeup artists, stylists, locations, physical samples, and a planning process that’s often incompatible with the fast pace of the fashion industry.

In this webinar, Andrea Bosio of Rewix speaks with Luca Ambrosini, founder and CEO of Shootify, to demonstrate how artificial intelligence can radically transform this process.

From a photo of the garment to a digital photoshoot

Shootify allows you to start with various types of input:

  • professional still lifes;
  • in-house photos;
  • images on a mannequin;
  • photos taken with a smartphone;
  • sketches and drafts;
  • materials still in the design phase.

The AI can then generate product images consistent with the desired style, selecting:

  • model;
  • pose;
  • setting;
  • lighting;
  • creative direction;
  • format;
  • usage context.

All of this is done through a web interface without having to organize a physical photo shoot.

Catalog Consistency

One of the main challenges for retailers and multi-brand distributors is the inconsistency of images received from different suppliers.

Formats, models, backgrounds, lighting, and photographic style can vary from brand to brand.

AI, on the other hand, allows you to standardize the catalog and create a consistent visual identity, enhancing the perception of quality and professionalism in the digital channel.

AI Models and Usage Rights

Shootify allows you to work with both real models and models generated entirely by artificial intelligence.

In the case of AI models, the images can be used without the traditional time and geographic restrictions associated with image rights.

It’s also possible to create exclusive models for individual brands, with specifically defined visual characteristics.

From Sketch to Photo

AI can be used even before the product physically exists.

A sketch can be transformed into a photographic representation that can be used for:

  • design reviews;
  • merchandising;
  • pre-collections;
  • sales presentations;
  • communication with the supply chain;
  • previewing sales content.

This makes photography a tool that can be used throughout the entire product lifecycle.

Images That Become Videos

The same approach can be used to generate short videos from images.

Animations—even those lasting just a few seconds—can increase attention on product pages, improve engagement, and pause scrolling within catalog grids.

Customization by Market and Customer

One of the most compelling advantages is the ability to customize content.

You can use:

  • different templates for geographic regions;
  • different styles for specific audiences;
  • different images for distributors and retailers;
  • customized catalogs for individual markets;
  • settings consistent with a specific segment.

In B2B, this opens up the possibility of providing buyers and dropshippers with differentiated content rather than distributing the same catalog to everyone.

Costs and Speed

As explained in the webinar, one generation takes about one minute, and on average, a few iterations are needed to achieve the desired image.

Shootify also reports a reduction in direct costs compared to traditional photo shoots of around 80%, which can approach 90% when indirect costs are also factored in.

For SMEs, pricing starts at approximately 5 euros per image.

AI and Privacy

The solution can be used in the cloud or installed on the brand’s internal infrastructure.

This allows companies with specific confidentiality needs to prevent designs, collections, and content from leaving their environment before launch.

The Next Evolution: Increasingly Personalized Content

Videos, micro-animations, pose control, and increasingly granular personalization are some of the developments described in the webinar.

The goal is to combine two needs:

scalability and efficiency on one hand, creative control on the other.

Watch the webinar and discover how artificial intelligence can transform the fashion catalog from an operating cost into a driver of conversion and differentiation.
